AMH means Automatic Mark Hold Threashold Level.
Set by SW-1 (threashold level ) and time out delay SW-1 located in the  
right hand corner of the MODEM circuit board (lower board)

SW-1 sets the threashold in 6 db increments.  Factory default is  
SW-1-8 ON for -42 dBm
set one DIP switch ON as follows
   0dBm  1
-6 dBm  2
-12 dbm 3
-18 dBm 4
-24 dBm 5
-30 dBm 6
-36 dBm 7
-42 dBm 8

SW-2 sets the delay time  switch toggle 1 is 4.5 seconds, toggle 2 is  
4.0 seconds and so on: facctory default is 1.0 seconds, toggle 8  
ON  )all off is 5.0 sec.)
