I was entering phone numbers, and subsequently an email address on my 
new cell phone
this morning and I just realized something. I had to hit the function 
key to shift between
letters, numbers, and punctuation. I kind of laughed to myself and made 
a few TTY
machine noises and went  "ding ding ding" when I was finished. My wife 
just looked
at me like I had (once again) thrown a connecting rod at the dinner 
table. I explained
to her about the 5 level Baudot code and the requirement of the LTRS and 
NUM keys.
