U.S. Navy and U.S.A.F used a color
Teletype called Light Gray code HB
The Bell System machines and those for other civilian markets
used Olive Gray code HF
THe navy liked the machines to match the bulkheads but the lighter
gray gets dirtier quicker.
THe olive gray did not show the grease and dirt as much.
In any case if you do not get a computer match I would recommend the
same paint as Jack.
Rustoleum makes good spray paint and Light Machine Gray should look
pretty good.
In the case of most Bell System 28 machines the color was medium green
code GA
Western Union used a lighter green but I do not have the code number,
they painted a lot of the machines themselves.
However near the end of the 28 model run WUTco used the standard Bell
GA color. I guess they got tired of special orders and painting.
