We've had AP here at my station, WRNJ, for 36 years..they originally had 
that Model 15 RO pounding away and thence to an irritating wheeezzie 
sounding Extel type beast.

The signal came into a converter in the base via fone lines.  Finally, we 
got off the 15, went to Wheezer and a small satellite dish.  My Model 15 was 
to be picked up by their AP staff...but I told him NO, it stays here.

A little bit of tension but, I won.  Eventually it ended up at Rice's place.

Now, in the news today, it's looking like AP is going to downsize or 
disappear...it's a co-operative of papers and broadcasters.  Due to the 
economy and the internet, big "things" are going to happen...and it "don't 
look good" as news will be helter skelter sources and the AP 
credibility/honesty may be lost forever.

The last techie here said he'd appropriate their last Model 15 for me....and 
never showed.
