The Model 28 items listed on ebay are both 8 level sets. In one of the pics
you can see the tape gate of the transmitter-distributor. Look at the width
of the tape guides. It is set for 1 inch tape. Also, look at the hole in
the tape gate where the tape-out pin would come through. It's close to the
tape feedwheel. That's what you would expect to see on a Model 35 TD On a
Model 28, the tape-out pin is located close to the bottom edge of the tape.
Look at the picture showing the reperf: The width of the tape fragment and
the width of the tape reel both indicate that it is an 8 level reperf. Look
at the reperf's stunt box area: There's no Letters-Figures shift mechanism.
That's another indicator that it is an 8 level set. Both units are Tempest
machines and have the electronics packages. The punch block on the reperf
is of the full punch variety. The reperf is probably an LPR814. The cover
on the reperf is of a newer variety than the ones we usually see on M28 ROTRs.
I hope this info is of use. Keep those machines running!
