Here's how John, WB6BLV, explains the use of the low voltage, low current 
Black Box (on eBay) to key a HV transistor.  This effectively converts the 
CL050 to a 60 ma. 130 VDC loop keyer.

When he finds the diagram, which is described below, I'm sure he'll share it 
with us.

 will have to draw the thing up again... the scan is on a CD 'somewhere' 
here but just put the MJE340 in the loop with emitter to negative...  insert 
the TTY mags tween collector and +
 the keying signal (low voltage DC) should be + to base of MJE40 (through 
3K - 10K resistor) and - to emitter some guys put a 0.1 mfd cap in series 
with a 470 ohm 1 watt resistor across
the emitter - collector as a snubber, while others put reverse connected 
1N4007 diodes across the magnets... I have seldom had any difficulty using 
neither of these to protect the transistor since the 340 is pretty rugged
