Gil,
I take great exception to our flag being considered political.
IT IS NOT. MY Message was simply to inform who so ever that it is now
proper for Veterans to salute our flag when out of uniform.
Many of my friends have died and the only way I knew they were
Veterans was to see our flag on their casket. With this new change
I will be able to see who is a Veteran without them dying first.
This list happens to have many Veterans who would benefit from this
simple informative message.
All the people who have no interest what so ever can simply delete the
message. NOTHING of politics was ever mentioned by me.
As Greg Moore stated our country is important to me. It is way more
important than some old freaking Teletype machines.
From now on I will offer nothing to the list. If people want to ask
me a question they will have to write to me off the list.

Here is the message that you cut off. It is also non political.
If you hate living in the USA I guess you could make a case for the
message being political.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will note that my only comments were in support of all citizens of
this country. All Citizens...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OLD GLORY is our nation's ensign established long ago by true
representatives of the citizens of our country.
Our flag is a material representation of each and every born or
naturalized citizen of the United States of America.
Our flag is NOT a symbol of our republic's government. They all have
their own flags.
The President has his own flag, as does the VP, the State Dept., etc.,
etc.
All of the military services have their own flags, all the states
have their own flags.
Other countries may have flags that represent their governments. Our
flag is different.
OLD GLORY represents YOU and ME, and our Fathers and Mothers, our
Children and their Children.
Those that died on Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima putting up two of our
flags certainly did not give up their lives for a
symbol of Franklin Roosevelt or General George Marshall. They did it
for their nation of people like you and me.
Many youngsters out there need to learn this very important lesson.
OLD GLORY = WE THE PEOPLE
