Speed conveting

One could also get a Dovetron TU that already has the speed
converter
built in. The "loaded" version also has the FIFO's for buffering.
But,
if the application is only "up-converting", the FIFO is not
needed. Even most of the Tempest Dovetrons had the speed
converter/regen board. They were set up with selectable input
speed
and fixed (100 wpm) output speed.

A simple up-converter could be built with a UART chip and a few
other parts. The UART most of us used is still available from
Jameco (General Instruments AY-3-1015).
