It was always my experience that about half of the construction articles in
73 really ever worked! I once built a RTTY TU with active filters and it took
months to get it to work correctly.

But, I have to give Wayne credit for having some really good advertisers.
I got my first Model 19 when he ran one of his "Surplus" issues. Bought
it from a place called Selectronics in Philadelphia, PA, when I was 15
years old. In those days you could ship up to 100 pounds for a fixed
"freight" price, so I bought 100 pounds of TTY perf tape...I still have some of
it!!!! (...good grief). Having moved 7 times and lugging that tape with me, the
shipping costs continue to rise.

Remember Poly Paks, Godbout, and all of the outfits that sold TTL
chips and clock kits?

73,
Jack K0TTY
