[GreenKeys] AP Model 15 longevity

Hi Sheldon et. al.,

Here's the skinny on AP today. We have a small, about 24 inches, sat dish
for AP. That goes to a receiver and what looks like a "modem" fed by the
rcvr. The modem connects to other PC's. We had to go find the AP
receiver....it's burried under junk behind a desk in the newsroom!!!

The PC's are dedicated to AP. The screen has a menu listing all the current
stories. They highlight the story/stories they want and tell it to print.
It prints on a normal desktop printer.

There is no more printer running day and nite. All the studios have that AP
screen and can pick and choose what they want to print. EVERYTHING IS
PRINTED IN CAPS.

I'll get some pix of the AP equipment and have my son post it on a URL later
today.

Nobody can remember the last time an AP person was here!! Best part of this
is the boxes of bi-fold paper ... some go home with me :>)
