Thanks guys! One list member e-mailed a CV-89A schematic and another is
sending a complete manual.
I have posted the schematic at http://www.virhistory.com/ham/rtty.htm
and will get the manual scanned and on-line some time later. I'll try to
keep updating that web site as I get more info.
What a helpful group! Or as I said to one fellow, I can just imagine the
chuckles as you watch yet another person get sucked into the tar pit of
noisy oily electro-printery...
cheers,
Nick KD4CPL

Subject: [GreenKeys] wanted - Navy manuals and gear
For some strange reason, I've gotten interested in 1950's Navy RTTY systems.
I'm currently looking for the following. Please let me know if you can help
or have any suggestions:
- manual or schematic for AN/SGC-1 TU (Navships 91152)
- manual or schematic for CV-89/URA-8 AFSK converter
- manual, schematics, or parts for AN/FGC-5 TTY mux system (Navships 91265A)
- CV-127/FRR-24 FSK converter and any other parts of FRR-24, FRR-37, or
FRR-10 diversity receivers
- any info about how the above receivers were used by the US Navy.
Thanks,
Nick KD4CPL
