Back in about 82-83 i bought a COmmodore 64. WOW! I had computer
friends who had the whole shebang. Dual disk drives and you name it. I
got along with the 64, a 1702A monitor and cassette unit. I still have
the cassette unit along with the 1702A monitor. I use the monitor with
a satellite receiver for TV as the Color and resolution is great, better
than some TV's i've seen. If you wanted something to use as a "dumb"
terminal, i'd look for one of them. I see 5 of them on Ebay and they
are cheap, if they are working as they should. Only problem i've had
with mine is the slide switch on the back is a bit intermittent at
times, That's for switching the input from the back to the front RCA
jack. Otherwise, i love it. Seems they had a cartridge that plugged in
with a CW program and i think i saw someplace or someone who had a rtty
program for it. Might have been in one of the ham mag's or one of the
software/hardware publications from that era.
