The glass for most Teletype machines with the exception of the Model  
26 were safety glass with one edge beveled.

So many 15 "windows" were broken the Bell System started having them  
made out of Plexiglas.

Safety glass is the best.  The bevel is important on most except for  
the 14.  Without it you can cut off one or more of your fingers.
