What is the difference between a TT-178 & TT-179?

That sounds like a well worth-while project.

I have "1968 glossary of military electronic systems" (all lower case) -
it lists all kinds of stuff. For the AN/FGC-25 it says: Army Teletype
Smith - Corona;P ( p stands for production vs. S Study, D Development,
  O opweration; P/O phasing Out).
Real informative.

Another dandy entry:
MARDAN: Navy medium sized computer, scientific application, Autonetics
OP. Yeah, no kidding. Inertial Navigation Computer for FBM Submarines...

These lists are often one step (barely) better than nothing- So a real
list - preferrably with photos - would be really nice.

best regards...
