I ordered that part from Fred Schmidt and got the part without the "soft"
top....the one that beats the type wheel to pieces.
Can't you find some kind of glyptol/rubber compound and dip the "head of the
hammer" into that, let it cure and still have what you need? It's a pain to
change out that part BTW.
