Some more information that might be useful:

1. RET and LINEFEED work.

2. Being that it's stuck in FIGS mode, I've verified that all figures do 
   print properly: numbers, symbols, the bell, and even the undefined keys 
   (F G H) that print out "flag" characters.

3. HERE IS produces "470194:0:158".  I don't know if that is what it 
   produced originally or if this will translate to letters when the FIGS 
   mode gets unstuck?
