[GreenKeys] How best to "un-mothball" a KSR-28

I have a KSR-28 (and a KSR-35) sitting in my basement.
I got them both from the estate of a "silent key."
I am looking for general advice on the sort of routine
steps one should do when "un-mothballing" a TTY
that has been sitting around for a number of years.
The 28 clatters away on its own when I plug it in,
the 35 blew a fuse, so that will have to be a project
for another day.  BTW, I have another typing unit
in my collection as well as a 28RO with no skin.
