The SRT-14/15/16 series were the first synthesized transmitters, using an
all tube exciter... 76 tubes or so (1955) The URC 32 first arrived aboard
my DDR during a 1960 yard period. Kind of a "lightweight" compared to the
bulky SRT's :-) The URC32 shared it's limelight with the WRT-1 and WRT-2
xmtrs, among others.
