If I find the photo of the one in the case I will send it to you.
Compared to other Teletype equipment the 31 is very light. I am
guessing now as both of our 31s are in California, but about 20
pounds with the outer carrying case, and about 15 pounds without the
outer carrying case.

The 31 was multi-functional. In addition to military use, the
machine was
also carried to sporting and other news events to transmit to
newspapers.
The machine in the photo I sent to Evan is powered by 115vac and has
spare
sets of gears for operating at 60, 67, and 75 wpm. Some of the
machines had
semi-weatherproof carrying cases. A few receive only M31s were used as
crypto printers.
