I always shift my ASR's nylon shift by turning off the motor and shifting as
it slows down (as Don describes). The steel shifts need a lot of fiddling to
mesh...
And, as Dave points out, I too have a 28KSR with the knob on the front of
the keyboard...it shifts on the run, real smoothe!
