Well, Lorenz licensed the Teletype 14 (or Morkrum-Kleinschmidt, teletype's
predecessors), calling it the Lorenz 14, later improvements of which were
used with the Lorenz German cipher machine SZ42 in WW2 against the allies.
In fact the selectors on the SZ42 are Teletype designed, and all the
securing screws on the cipher unit are US threads.
So the answer is yes - but not in the way that might be expected!
