Being the owner of a M28ASR, and M28KSR, and a M28RO they each have 
their purposes.  In my case all three printers are configured 
differently.  One has Unshift on Space, another has auto CR/LF, and the 
RO is in a soundproof cabinet.  It's quiet enough that many years ago I 
had it in the 3rd bedroom that was used as the radio room, operating 
behind either autostart or more often Selcall.  A lot of what I do is 
pictures and having the different receive modes is at times useful.  
Both for me to verify that a picture works both with and without unshift 
on space, or so I can print something from somebody who assumes that 
everybody has UoS.

As your only TTY, yes, but in combination with others, it serves a 
purpose...
