Well, - here's my dealings with eBay fraud. YMMV.

I put my Ten-Tec ORION I up for sale @ a reserve of $2,700.oo

I gave it a nice write-up and took pictures of it. The best
place for picture-taking just happened to be on top of the
cover to my hottub (hey - I'm in California, alright?)

A few days later I get an e-mail from a ham in Denmark, saying
that my radio and write-up (more or less) has been posted on
EuroBay (?) by some guy in China. He gave me the URL and when
I checked it, sure enough it was a butchered version of my
write-up and the same pictures I posted.

I contacted eBay and informed them of the above.

Within 48 hours I received a notice that since the fraud
was on eBay China, that I need to contact them. They gave me
eBay China's e-mail address.

I sent eBay China a full description of the fraud.

[hold on to your hats, folks]

They responded that "there's no way to tell if he is the
fraud or YOU are the fraud, so we're not going to pursue
the issue." And thank you for contacting us on this matter.

??? - that cranked me off so much that I sent them:

o showing that my ad was posted 3 days before HIS ad.

o edits of the original write-up.

o several different shots of the rig that weren't posted.

o pictures of the hottub cover WITHOUT the rig on it.

o The bill-of-sale with the serial number on it.

o Now: why don't you check with HIM and see if HE can
come up with anything like that.

They responded with "we're still not convinced that you
are the original poster.

                        _ ... _

Well, I am *SLIGHTLY* ashamed that I lowered myself
to making some really racist remarks about their
tinker-toy 3rd world country, how unscrupulous they
are, how they'll KILL someone in their country for
not following their government's edicts while at the
same time [messing] over the rest of the world. etc. etc.

Look: I've worked with Chinese people for many years,
and have found them to be like every other race: there
are good ones (MOSTLY!) and a bad apple every now and
then - but their government seems to be almost as
ruthless as Korea's.

P.S. - I'm getting SPAM'd over these GREAT STOCK DEALS
for companies in China. Anyone else getting these
great deals?

We now return you to our original program...

73,
W6ESE - tony
