Hi Les:
Another workaround would be to connect the TD to TTY-Connect (either on a
loop, or the TU232 port, depending on the TD), and let TTY-Connect convert
the data. The TD can run baudot at any speed, and the PC232 port is always
38400-baud ascii (so the USB adapter will work).
The baudot-to-ascii conversion in TTY-Connect, retains individual CR and LF
codes (so overstrikes will not get screwed up), and it can optionally
retain all FIGS/LTRS codes as well (converts them to SO/SI).
The ascii version of the tape file can, of course, be sent back out to
ttys, with the opposite conversion. It's all automatically done for
you. You can just use a terminal program (even Hyperterminal) to capture
the data to a file.
