[GreenKeys] newbie RTTYart questions

I've seen some stuff floating around on the list about the program
RTTYart, but I didn't pay as much attention as I should have. Anyway, I
don't think that questions as basic as I have were even addressed. So,
in that I can't seem to contact the author, I'll throw them out here and
hope I get a hand.

I wish to dump art files to my newly acquired mechanical TTY. At this
point, I'm only interested in debugging the machine and printing some
files, so handling keyboard output is not an issue. That'll come later.

1) Is the only thing that I need in the way of hardware a circuit that
will take the TX data stream out of the serial port and convert it to
current loop pulses, or is more required?

2) Should an RS-232 plus voltage level produce loop current flow, or no
loop current flow?

3) I assume the normal CTS-RTS and DST-DTR-CD "null modem" jumpers
should be included, yes?

4) The docs state that the app runs on anything WIN95 and up. How about
WIN 2000? My concern is that the app may try to directly manipulate UART
registers in order to achieve TTY baud rates, which (I believe) WIN2K
won't allow.

Any other sagely advise? ;<)

Thanks!!

Mike, WB5MYY

BTW - Shortly, I'll be leaving town on a 1-2 day business trip. So if
anybody sends me a reply, no answer right away doesn't mean I blew you
off. I'll reply ASAP. Thanks again. - WB5MYY
