Condolences come first, of course.  

As hard as this is, I think that it is important to contact the 
family - perhaps several family members, if you can - immediately
to tell them that RTTY enthusiasts can be found to help them 
dispose of the equipment if there is no one in the family who wants it.  

Otherwise, you never know how quickly the Dumpster will arrive
and well-meaning family members begin to clean out Grandpa's 
mysterious "junk".
