[GreenKeys] RTTY HF technician license? Not so fast.

Russ,
Yes, that thing worked perfectly except I remember I
couldn't get the motor start to work right until it
was patiently explained to me that 0.1uf is not .01uf
and when I got the motor control now magically shut
off in 60 seconds not 6 seconds. This was used on the
80 meter autostart net and even though was all in the
basement the machine could still wake up the family
when it went on.
The biggest hurdle on that thing was getting that
blue tuning eye tube (EF series?) and figuring out how
to make a slot through the front panel for it. I had
neither the right tools or the talent or experience to
do it right but improvised. The tube was expensive
and had to be bought NEW, an unusual experience.
I will swear to this day that everything since
started with those late nights in the basement.. what
a learning experience. Of course I didn't know how
smart the people were who I was dealing with until
much, much later.
Regards
Gerry
