Greenkeys,
Had a short QSO with Roy on 10.137 yesterday. Roy had a little
trouble with the packet racket just above us. I used the audio
spectrum analyzer display on WinPSK23 to tune the TS-940S SSB
slope tuning and to set the notch filter. Works kinda neat, chops
out the offending signals. The configuration here is a Hal ST-6
which has been modified with RS-232. The software I used was my
own terminal program that converts the ST-6 BAUDOT to ASCII.
I suggest establishing the base frequency we all use as the "MARK"
frequency. That way we do not have to figure out what the mid-
channel offsets are for 170, 200 or 850 Hz. Makes it easy to
set up your frequency using a frequency counter on signals generated
by SSB LSB or pure FSK. My HP5303A frequeny counter seems to
read the true pseudo-RF frequency for "MARK" using AFSK over SSB.
Don't trust the frequency display on your SSB transceiver, it is
based on an AFSK audio frequency of zero.
