Hello all,
Some of you might recall I have a fascination with stock tickers. I finally have an opportunity to buy a model called the "black box" or western union 5a. As this is not the most beautiful of stock tickers, my primary interest would be to attempt to bring it back to life. These machines were built by teletype, but I am not sure if they were designed by teletype. Here is a url to a picture of the innards.

I am hoping someone on the list could take a look at this picture and see if the mechanisms resemble any of the teletype mechanisms (like a typing reperf minus the reperf or something)...
My ultimate hope is that this runs of a current loop and ITA5 code. If any one recognizes this (or knows how they work) please contact me. I am also looking to find someone who would be interested in helping me get it working (hopefully near NYC area or 3-4 hours drive since it weighs 50 lbs!)
Thanks for your consideration! (who knows? maybe I can get this thing to print the hoffnet bulletins?!)
I should add that I do have a manual for this, but its more a repair/maintenance manual than a theory of operation guide.
Eugene
