Hi  Bill,

Thanks for the comments.  The dipole is at 65 feet and completely in the
clear so its high enough on 20 meters to have a nice null off the end.
I am still going to try a 20 meter vertical dipole and see how that
works, or perhaps reorient the dipole so that it runs NE to SW (solves
one problem, creates andother :)

I work W4ZCB in Hendersonville, NC on 20m SSB and at KW power level he's
virtually always at least 20 dB over S9. I can't imagine not being able
to run soid RTTY at the 100W level between your QTH and Washington
state. If your dipole is high enough there actually might be a null off
the end, but few people have their dipole high enough to make it so deep
you don't still work people "off the end".
