Hello,
I'm trying to straighten something out, perhaps you can help me with
this, regarding teletypes and HAM radios.
According to my research:
1855: Morse debuts the first Teletype: a glass-domed stock-market ticker.
1876: The first Teletypewriter is used on Telegraph lines.
1923: First evidence of character/text-based artwork transmitted
remotely, via Teletype networks.
**WHAT HAPPENED?** What year was the technology invented to permit
Teletypes to communicate over radio? I can't find a single link to
this! It's frustrating, but maybe you know right away where I can
find this information. I've read that RTTY was available as early as
1925 but no explanation as to how it came around, etc.
1970s: Text-based artwork is sent from via radio waves using the Radio
Teletype (RTTY).
