Hey Guys;
I was just looking at the ARRL's Amateur Frequency Allocation Chart
and was thinking that maybe we should do our tests in the Novice
portion. I never hear ANY activity there, and it will be pretty
much immune to CW contests too.
We'd probably want to keep off of any frequencies that make nice
round numbers that the SW stations might use - like 7.100 MHz.
On the other hand, a 25 KHz point would be great for the
folks with old VFO / analog dial rigs. They could spot with
their crystal calibrators. We'd want to be setup so that when
you use your crystal calibrator, you tune it to 2125 Hz and
your're on "our MARK" frequency.
Maybe go closer to the phone portion. I don't seem to recall
hearing any SW station there.
How about if [we] check out the band in the evening and see
how much SW activity [we] hear?
