Earle,
Most Model 33's require a 20 ma. loop which typically
is at 24VDC. Some 33's might have an RS232 interface.
The Dovetron has an RS232 interface which would drive
a 33 with the RS232. If you need to drive the current loop,
you could make a small adaptor which would convert
the RS232 to key the 20 ma. loop.
Now, the real clinker....there is absolutely no ASCII
RTTY on the air these days (really never was). And, there
is little commercial RTTY (Baudot), too.
The ARRL does send bulletins in ASCII on weekdays,
but I never bothered to try to copy since I'm close to them
and can only hear them on 80 meters (noisey). Their
170 HZ shift, 60 WPM shift Baudot comes through
fine.
The best you could do would be to get your hands on
something like the PK232 multi-mode controller.
It outputs ASCII (I have run my 33 with it) and
takes anythnig as an input (RTTY, CW, Packet, AMTOR,
etc.).
I don't think you'll get anywhere trying marry the Dovetron
to the 33. While it will technically work, it would be
equivalent to being "all dressed up, with no place to go".
