re wx broadcasts.

I've been printing the Canadien weather service @ 75WPM on a couple of
freqs. one is 6496.14 kc and get almost 100 percent copy in the early
evening thru the night hours. Little to long a distance for daytime
coverage. Even tho they say the info comes from nova Scotia, i think
the transmitters are around Victoria B.C. at the base there.

10.535.70 and 4270.76 are a couple others. French Tahiti FAAA sending
to FUF in continuing tests are around as well.

A few years back there was a US weather broadcast from Miami that
matches the format sent by the Canadien station. Think the freq was
down around 3200 or so kc. Been over 25 years......... USAF weather
was transmitted on HF rtty somewhere around 10-11 mc it seemed. Don't
recall exact freq or speed/shift. Have a freq for it but have not heard
anything there. Doesn't appear to be a continuous thing, only certain
times and i've not been available whenit was supposed to be on.

A note on the Canadien stuff. After their weather broadcasts they
change over and send WEFAX pics. Then go back to rtty.

Course 60 wpm stuff shows up on 20 and 15 meters. Been some good dx on
20 in the afternoons and early mornings on 15.

Can't hear the NAVTEX stuff out here and i doubt its regular rtty
anyway.

There are a couple of Rtty sigs just above 4.0 mc. Suspect they are
military but can't decode anything of them. Almost like start/stop
mcw. thot they were 6 bit stuff. Anyone know?
Good printing!!!!
