Scope?  Whazzat?  I've been tuning by ear since at least late 1966 when 
I was using AN/GRC-26C.  Later, back in USofA, had five AN/FRR-38's and 
I could tell the shift by ear and by the swing of the ma meters on both 
channels of the CV-116's.  Was lotsa good stuff floating around back 
then.  Am running two real AN/FRR-38's at home, along with a hybrid 
using two R-391's and a CV-116C.  To go fishing for a signal, I use only 
my 51J4.  Real men don't need scopes.
