Larry,

The MMTTY display is a copy of the old oscilloscope
cross display that every diehard RTTY'er used. When the
ST-5/ST-6 arrived on the scene, the tuning meter became
the rage (cheaper). It worked well,. but there was nothing like
that scope display. By that time, not every RTTY'er was
a scrounger/builder and so the homemade scopes were
no longer the norm. Only the higher priced commercial
stuiff had a scope (like the ST6000 or the earlier Dovetrons).
