This guy restores manual typewriters.  Step 5 of his restoration process
is
 5) Install a new nylon ribbon with the proper metal spools, and with a
reversing eyelet, if needed.

Maybe he has found the source.

Disclaimer: I never heard of this guy before.  Just decided to try a
Google search to see if I could find a source of the eyelets.
