The model shown was made by Teletype, introduced in 1931 to replace the
glass bell jar kind. The latter continued in use until the late 1940s
for reporting baseball scores. This newer model uses 6-level code and
runs at 60WPM. The mechanism for controlling the typewheel was later
adopted to make the Model 26 page printer. Western Union had a Baudot
tape printer they called the 401A which was similar to the ticker
but printed on narrower telegram tape and used 5-level code. I don't
know if these were newly produced for the purpose or if they were made
by reworking old stock tickers.
Someone mentioned a 2-B - that is Western Union's designation for a
Teletype Model 14.
