I discovered the communication system by pure dumb luck and called WLW and
told them they were transmitting RTTY on their AM carrier.  They denied it.
I check around on the AM band and found other stations sending RTTY.  I told
to WLW about this and they kept denying it.  I told the I was going to build
a TU to multiply the freq shift up to were I could copy it on my model 15.
The system stopped transmitting after a very short period of time.  A few
month later I read an article in Broadcasting.  Which described what was
happening and also mention a citizen had discovered the systems operation.
Later when I was an adult the government wanted to hire me to work on
specialized comm systems.  This story is very involved.  They used beverage
receiving antenna and the carrier shift was less than 15 cycles to keep the
broadcast station legal.  It makes for a  good over a cup of coffee story.
Model 15's and tape gear of the same vintage was used.
