Wayne,

I'm glad you brought this machine to my attention. I have been
waiting for these to become available. A couple of years ago a lady
in Ohio bought up a large lot of Teletype equipment that was Navy
surplus. I purchased several items from her including two skin-tight
28 KSRs. We got pretty friendly on the emails and she offered to
ship me a UGC-25 Compact RO if I would take the rest of the items off
her hands and out of her storage. She also offered to take photos of
a complete large fax machine and get a shipping quote for it.

Well that might have been her intention, but after I paid her and
received over a dozen large heavy boxes I discovered that she had
sold the two items I wanted for our museum to a local buyer who read
about her on GREENKEYS. For months my driveway was filled with boxes
marked as "Steam Irons" packed by a prison somewhere in the East.
Inside of these boxes were interesting items, but totally useless
without machines to use the items with.

Since that time all of these items are now stored in a warehouse in
San Diego. 24 or so keyboards, 50-100 print heads, 50-100 platens
and other maintenance items for the AN/UGC 136. I also have two
electrical service units for this machine... BUT I STILL DO NOT HAVE
A MACHINE!!!

If these machines are finally coming into the surplus market you
won't have to worry about spare parts! We have several hundred
pounds of parts mostly still sealed in their original boxes.
