I cannot wait until I reach the point where the machinery I bring home has
to be located outside "my" garage area and outside my workshop/shack. That
will be interesting. The xyl cannot imagine back in my single days when I
had two glider wings that I had to put in my house that went from the
kitchen, through the dining area, into the hallway and poking into the back
spare bedroom. I should have met her earlier and brought her home to see
that sight. As I recall, the fuselage of the glider was short enough to
fit in the two car garage. But, the wings needed to be in the house as the
garage was too small. After I got a covered trailer built, I was able to
keep all of the glider parts in the trailer.
Reminds me of a friend who had to work on an aircraft engine and he didn't
want to take it off the fuselage. So, he took out the large bay window in
the front of the house, poked the engine portion of the fuselage into the
window and therefore into the living room, put a tarp around the outside of
the window that covered the fuselage and went to work rebuilding the engine
in the living room.
Seems to me, I have a kayak project I want to build out of a wood kit. Any
suggestions where I should build it? The garage is not an option because
of the cars, dogs and all the other stuff out there. I think the best
place is the den where I could fit the kayak from corner to corner, almost.
Anyway, it is fun to dream...maybe I should become single again! It was
good the second time around. Who knows how good it might be the third time!
