[GreenKeys] Identify that ESU

Henry,
The typebox is a "weather symbols" typebox. The arrows were
used to show wind direction and the circles with lines inside
indicate cloud cover.
I have a 28ASR with the same ESU and here's the way I have it
hooked up:
the line jack "LJ" is the line side of the polar relay. That goes
to your outside loop (RTTY converter, etc.). I think
you will find internal loop current on the "BJ" jack. I am
pretty sure I set that jack's current for half the inputted
loop current (e.g., 30 ma.)and used the ESU as-is in this machine. I forget
which of the pots (the screwdriver adjustments) are for that
jack, but you can find out by plugging in a 100 ma. meter
and turning the controls. I also think one of them might
affect the input loop current. That should be turned down
to zero (assuming you are inputting 60 ma.) I have a dual-headed
LCXD in this machine, so I did some wiring changes, but I don't
think I did anything to the ESU. Give it a try. Bythe way,
the inputted loop will be polarity sensitive since you are now
going to key a polar relay.

These are some pictures of the ESU of a model 28 which I just acquired,
without
any documentation.
It looks similar to the one that Charles Ring posted a few days ago.

Can anyone tell me some information about what this thing does? What are
the phone plugs for on the box on the left, and those four screws that
appear to be
pots labeled PP, BP, RP, TKP ? And what are those "jones" plugs for?

Just curious ... I am planning to bypass pretty much all that stuff and
just wire the current
loop directly to the typing unit and keyboard. But if I can use the power
supply to generate the
loop current that might be nice.

Also -- the type case that came with it looks kind of funny - can anyone
tell me what
those symbols are for?

Thanks,
         Henry
