[GreenKeys] Teletype ribbons

This may sound kind of anal-retentive, but I am wondering if people have 
noticed
a difference between "original" ribbons for Model 28 teletypes, and modern
ribbons.

The teletype I got had a brand new (from 1964 or so) ribbon in it, and then
I changed recently to a new ribbon. The old ribbon seemed to print 
characters with a more
rounded appearance, whereas the new ribbon has the characters very sharp with
their serifs clearly visible. I kind of liked the appearance of type with 
the old ribbon better, it
reminds me more of the output I used to see.  I am just wondering if
other people had noticed a difference in the appearance of the print, and 
if some ribbons
have a more "authentic" effect than others.
