The 15-looking machine was a Russian version of the 15 with three shifts to
accomodate the Russian Cyrillic alphabet. It and 28ASR's were used on the
Hotline, but was the hot line in place during the missile crisis? I seem to
recall that it was set up in the aftermath of the crisis,
