I changed gears on a Model 15 not long ago.
The motor gear mounts on the shaft with one screw.
The mainshaft gear mounts to the end of the mainshaft with three screws.
The manual(s) advise you to set the gear play/backlash if you change
gears. This is done by adjusting a screw in the motor plate at the
opposite end of the motor from the gear.
Apparently early mainshaft gears were solid and later ones were hollow -
cup shaped. The cup shaped ones uses shorter screws.
