Be wary Whenever you hear someone saying that CPU family XXX "sucks"... The same kind of bipolarity can be seen with Linux vs. Windows, Mac vs. PC, Japanese vs. American cars... There are always pros and cons on everything. 
 
Take the time to look at all features, prices, available development tools, readily available source code, etc. before choosing.
