[GPS_Standard] GPS_Standard Digest, Vol 27, Issue 1

Hi Roberto, Bob and others,

There is a feature I have been keeping on the list of improvements for a
next firmware release. It is the ability to clear the alarm using a
push-button. One of the reasons I did not originally include this feature in
the design was because I wanted the user to consult the alarm latch instead
of blindly clearing it. But I understand a power up scenario is a pretty
obvious one to understand.

I had actually coded the feature, but it never made it in the released
firmware. The last opportunity I had to throw it in was one more of damage
control than anything else: The firmware bug fix. I did not want to
introduce an additional feature that would have made the retrofit exercise
confusing.

That being said, I am willing to release a new firmware with the feature: An
alarm clear push-button. There will not be any change made to the FLL
algorithm, just the push-button feature. I will notify you on this forum
when it is available (in the next few days).

Best Regards,

Bert, VE2ZAZ

Hi Bob,

Let see what Bert has to say, but I believe that current firmware only
allows to do it via serial comm.

You could prepare a little PIC that sends the alarm-off message to the
controller with the touch of a button, and keep everything inside your
enclosure.

Thanks Bert!;
That whole transaction happened so fast I couldn't keep up with it.

My "ZAZ Frequency standard" usually operates as stand alone without a PC
attached.

The front panel has the "output enabled" and "FLL status" LEDs mounted on
it. After
start up and lock, the red error indication remains on (blinking) even
though the
start up sequence and lock was successful. Is there anyway to reset this LED
indication
after the fault no longer exists without a PC connection?
