Hi Hugh,
Regarding the Motorola GPS boards, I don't know what exact model of Oncore
you use, but I believe all Oncore models can be set up using the WinOncore12
software. It is available for free from Synergy Systems. Before switching to
NMEA, make sure you set it to "position fixed". If you have battery backup
on it, you should not have to re-initialize after initial setup.
There are other programs that have the ability to set up the GPS, but I like
WinOncore12 because it is custom-designed for the Oncores.
Cheers,
Bert, VE2ZAZ

Subject: [GPS_Standard] GPS-DO w/ LPRO-101 ?
Due to my recent involvement in 23cm EME I've decided that it's finally
time (pardon the pun) to put my VE2ZAZ GPS-DO together.
I'd like to hear from anyone that is using the Efratom LPRO-101 as their
oscillator with one of Bert's boards.
Also, I have a few of the small Motorola GPS boards. I dabbled with one
several years ago and recall that its native format is not NMEA but is
capable of it after being initialized accordingly. To avoid re-inventing
the wheel, is there anything out there (small board or just micro code)
that will do this for me ?
Replies appreciated.
