[Gonset] Vibrator Repair

I can attest to the accuracy of Paul's posting about vibrator repair on
Gonset radios.  But for some time now I have used a 'vibrator replacement'
mounted on a vibrator base (a pair of power transistors and associated
circuitry to be an electronic inverter rather than an electromechanical
one).  This does result is slightly higher output voltage from the power
supply and slightly reduced input current, and of course the DC is better
filtered due to the solid state inverter operating at a much higher
frequency than the vibrator.  Still, I do keep rebuilt vibrators on hand, if
for no other reason than to hear that satisfying buzz once in a while when I
power up an old radio.
