[Gonset] Cleaning Metal Knobs?

Thanks Dale!

Sounds as if the metal is not vulnerable to
damage from rubbing compound so I need not
worry about buffing-off the original finish.

I don't have a lathe so will try a handheld
rod into the knob then use the buffing pad
on my Dremel.

Now the insides are another thing entirely,
I've not yet had time to inspect it in detail,
don't know if it can be restored or not.

The knobs will be fun & my daughter loves
to help with projects like that.
